Video: 4 Latch Hook Tips from ECraftClasses

My goodness! I must first apologize for my delay in my posting efforts. I had no idea it had been six months since my last post here until I logged in today. I have been making a couple of regular monthly posts to www.SewPractical.com if you would like to catch up. : ) I hope all of you have been doing well.

The video is less than two minutes long, but I have provided a script below the video/slideshow in case you would like to refer back to this information at a later time without viewing the video. I do hope you find it to be helpful! Thank you very much for dropping by today.

PROBLEM #1: Latch hook frames like the one shown in the first slide above can be expensive - even when they're on sale. Note the $139.99 price tag on the one showing.

PROBLEM #2: You have only a small area to lay your latch hook tool and a few pieces of yarn on the expensive frames. Also, there is no place to hold your chart.

TIP #1: An accordion style clothes rack can be used, instead, to hang large latch hook projects onto. These can be purchased for $20 or less. BONUS #1: No assembly required. BONUS #2: Rack collapses easily for compact storage.

TIP #1 CONTINUED: Using the vertical clothes rack allows you to sit in an upright position instead of slouching over one of those expensive horizontal frames. Use clothespins to hold the latch hook project onto the clothes rack. The clothespins will also hold the folded chart directly in front of you.

TIP #2: Mark off each section of 10 with a pencil as you work across the row so you can keep track of where you're at as you work.

TIP #3: Tape yarn colors to your chart so you can visually see the colors as you work from your chart.

TIP #4: Lay out your yarn bags on a table beside you so you can easily reach them as you need them for your project. Your latch hook tool can also be laid on this table so it won't fall onto the floor every time you reach for it.

Have a nice day!
